Details:
On the evening of Saturday 17th October, the very thin young (23 hour old) Moon was observed setting to the west of Mutare under poor seeing conditions due to low level atmospheric haze above the distant horizon. The very thin crescent first appeared in the camera viewfinder at 6.10 pm twenty minutes after sunset and became visible to the naked eye at 6.20 pm (first image in mosaic). It then descended into thickening haze before disappearing again before reaching the horizon. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset mode with up to x60 zoom magnification.
