Last night I made a picture of M82 with SN2014J with the large 750/5800 mm telescope of the Wilhelm-Förster-Observatory in Berlin. Seven years before I took a picture of M82, too. So you can compare the both pictures with the same equipment. SN2014J is very bright, I think around 11 mag.
