Details:
Comet C/2026 C1 (Tsuchinshan) imaged on June 11, 2026, shining at about magnitude 18. Still more than 9 AU from the Sun, it remains completely stellar in appearance, with no detectable activity at this image scale.

This is another image in the ongoing monitoring of a comet that, if its current brightness trend continues, could become one of the most remarkable comets of late 2028. For now it remains only weakly active, with no visible coma or tails, preserving the appearance of a nucleus still too far from the Sun to develop detectable activity.

The comet was located in the constellation of Virgo, against a rich star field dotted with several faint background galaxies, subtly revealing the immense depth of space beyond this tiny visitor to the Solar System. Each new observation becomes increasingly valuable, as the comet is gradually sinking lower into the evening sky from my latitude, steadily reducing the available time to continue documenting its evolution.
