Details:
I went out to watch the sunset and then the earthshine on the Moon tonight. During the sunset, I noticed that the sun suddenly appeared "sliced", then I knew that temperature inversions were involved. The sun changed appearance from sliced to triangle to square and the sliced again, like a "stack of hot pancakes". Really spectacular :-)
