Details:

I don't think it will be possible to see "the ring of fire" when Venus is near inferior conjunction on 22.- 24. March 2025. It will be ca. 8° from the sun, and if someone will try, be aware of the danger of operating telescopes near the sun.
The next chance to see the Venus-ring will be around June 1th 2028 when it will be less than 1° from the sun, but don't panic, links under show previous observed Venus rings we can enjoy. 🙂

Time: 2004-06-09.3138 Exp.39 x 0.2sec.
Telescope 0.25m f/6.8 with MX916 CCD. Aperture stop down to 0.04m + red,green filter.
