Details:
Comet C/2024 G3 ATLAS before it slipped below the horizon. Despite the bright nucleus, it was already in the process of dissipating when this image was taken. The now-headless comet should still be visible as a bright streak in the sky for a while. Definitely a fun comet to see and photograph. It drew quite a bit of awe from the other photographers near me at the time I took this picture. ......... DETAILS: Taken with the Canon EOS Ra mirrorless camera with the Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM lens. This is a short duration 2.5 second exposure with ISO 1600 at f/1.6 at 85mm. No stacking.
