Details:
Just got one of the first $350 S30 from ZWO today, and tried it out with both black polymer filter included and 30mm Baader ND5 for slightly better contrast. Compared with my beloved S 50, a superb solar imager with its 2" Baader filter. First shot is with S30 and Baader, showing its wide FOV compared to solar disk. Next shot, with S30 at 2X, approximates the 1X view with S 50, the third shot. Compare the resolution of both full disk shots. Last one is close up of the monster, AR 3961, at 4x with S50. Amazing detail for a 2" lens! Trying them out on deep sky in an hour.
