Details:
At 7.20pm last night I went outside to say goodbye to our daughter and there in the sky to my surprise was the elusive planet Mercury just above the rooftop of the house across the road…. Higher up in the western sky on the ecliptic, Venus was shinning brilliantly * * * Right beside Venus was a star called Kaus Borealis (Lambda Sagittarii) also known as the star on top of the lid on the teapot! These stars in Sagittarius from a recognisable asterism of a teapot to the delight of new comers to astronomy ☺ ☺ ☺
Mercury is currently in the constellation of Ophiuchus and Venus is in the constellation of Sagittarius. Image was taken with a Canon 70D camera and Tamron 28-400mm lens, ISO 800 and 2 second exposure.
