Details:
I make the nighttime drive along the 5 freeway in California several times a year. In the vicinity of it's junction with Highway 46 in Lost Hils, on clear windless nights, some really astonishing lenses can usually be observed to the west of the freeway. I stopped near local midnight to capture these images with a Nikon D7100 and an 80-400 mm lens. In some cases, the actual lights are behind a ridge and not even directly visible. Some of these stacks are 6 lensed images tall!
