October 10 (EDT) G4 storm seen from Shenandoah National Park, Central District overlooking Luray, Virginia. In this sequence, between 9 and 10pm EDT, storm escalates toward its first peak. Naked eye appearance similar a long stratus cloud rolling in across the Shenandoah Valley in an otherwise cloudless sky, it had a faint greenish tinge- The iPhone monitor revealed the stunning colors. Colors and structure clearly visible but with far less intensity then phone cam revealed.
