I took these photos within 20 seconds of each other just after midnight, but three days apart. They show two different perspectives of the line of green “pickets” below STEVE. August 4 STEVE was a few degrees further south than on August 1. This, and perhaps a different angle of the plane of STEVE, hundreds of kilometres above me, put the row of green “pickets” on different sides. Vega and Lyra show scale and relative position. The August 1 photo hints at the variety of processes producing red, mauve and green light in and around STEVE.
