Details:
Sadly, it was thick clouds and rain here when the big G5 storm hit on May 10th (though even those thick clouds were brightly backlit by the aurora.) But more than a day later, it was clear and we observed some beautiful glowing waves briefly visible moving overhead during local nautical twilight (after 0200UT), at the tail of the storm 33 hours after the storm hit Earth. After darkness fell, the glow dimmed to nearly nothing even in photos.
Image from after 0220 UT May 12th, T+33h tail end of G5 storm which began 10th May ISO400 8" F1.5; movie covers about ten minutes as local nautical twilight falls; extra image of rain clouds lit up by the G5 storm on May 10th ISO 800, 8", F1.5 (normally would be pitch black).
