Details:
I knew the Leonid's peaked early Saturday morning, and we just happened to have clear skies. I had read that the show most likely would be "lean", but a chance to see a bright, earthgrazing Leonid on a warm, clear, sparkling November night drew me out. I couldn't ask for more, when when I captured this Leonid fireball at 1:37 a.m. Central time. I just began setting up the camera and was taking a couple of test shots, when this fireball showed up on my screen. It left a smoke trail that persisited for 81 frames (over 13 minutes) until the low clouds enveloped it. Shot with a Sigma 35mm Art, Canon R, at iso 6400, f1.6, 10 seconds.
