Details:
08/13/2022 – Maximum of the Perseid meteor shower Bright Perseid meteor next to the Pleiades and Mars. Despite the bright moonlight, significantly more meteors could be seen after midnight (from 02:00 CEST). Also in the GRAVES radar at 143,050 MHz (4-element Yagi + Receiver Funcube Dongle Pro+) I was able to register some quite strong echoes via meteor scatter on the monitor. The signal from GRAVES via reflection on the moon's surface (Moon Bounce, EME = Earth-Moon-Earth, Earth-Moon-Earth) was also excellent - even with the small Yagi on my antenna mast. GRAVES offers another great way to see meteors, even when the sky is overcast. Only a different wavelength. As a licensed radio amateur you can combine your hobbies wonderfully... 😉 Canon EOS 6D + Sigma Art 24mm at F2.8), ISO 800, 8s, 23:48 UT
