Details:
For a few nights in a row I was photographing Jupiter and Saturn. On December 20 I was surprised to see Jupiter's "fifth moon" because only four moons could be seen with my camera. Sure enough it was not a moon. It was a star HIP 99314. This star just emerged after an occultation by one of Jupiter's Moon (Ganymede) and it was nicely lined up with four moons of Jupiter. The star is marked by a white arrow in the second frame. Nobody would have cared to look for this star, if it did not get just between Jupiter and its moon on the night preceding to the Great conjunction. Clearly this star wanted to be photographed. On the other hand, on December 21 I was able to see only three moons of Jupiter because Ganymede was transiting Jupiter at the time I took the image.
