This is a 3-image composite showing the conjunction on the nights of 20 December and 21 December. The background image of the Moon was taken shortly after the planet image on 21 December 2020 and provides a measure of how close the two planets were.

Nikon D750, 300mm, ƒ/8, ISO 200, 4 secs (planets) and 1/250 sec (Moon).
