Details:
A ribbon loop composed of singly ionized calcium ions lingers just above the solar limb. We catch a prominenence in the wavelength of 393.37nm which is in the range of "near uv". This light appears purple or violet to our eye. However due to biological insensitivity of human eye cells at this wavelength, very few individuals can actually see this at the eyepiece. Very rare instances of humans do exist however. Nicknamed "Super-chromat's" by scientists, some people actually have a third cellular structure in their eye tissue that extends the range of vision well into the ultraviolet, and infrared. Most often, this ability is unknown to the owner as well, because each human perceives color differently. Color blindness, for example is the inability to distinguish shades of color. Super-chromatic eyes, perceive an extended range of shades as well.
