I had never known about Noctilucent clouds until I started following your web site. We live just north of the 46’ latitude so I knew opportunities would be rare. Last night, June 27th, about 10:30pm pacific time, until well after 11, we were stunned at what we saw. At first I thought the clouds were aurora, but there was little to no movement, no green glow and way to bright for “down” here. It had to be clouds! I literally ran to the house and got my wife and two teenage sons because I didn’t know how long they would last. They had never heard of them at all, so they indulged me and came outside. Before long all three were asking me questions. I did my best to regurgitate what I learned from this site then Wikipediaed the rest. We drove to the top of a hill and saw them stretch almost the whole northern horizon. After letting our eyes adjust, we were able to see a red and orange haze along with the silver and blue band. I took these pictures with my iPhone 11. Not bad, but it sure doesn’t do them justice. Thanks for your web site and educating my family and I.
