Details:
This image exhibits an infrequently documented occurrence of the International Space Station (ISS) transiting the sun during this year's leap day. Traveling at a speed of approximately 28,000 kilometers per hour, the complete solar transit rapidly ended at the blink of an eye, only lasting for almost a split second. The ISS orbits the Earth at roughly a total of 16 revolutions per day and is currently launched on its 62nd long term mission, Expedition 62, along with three crew members aboard. Onboard as part of Expedition 62 are: NASA Flight Engineers Andrew Morgan and Jessica Meir and Roscosmos Commander Oleg Skripochka.
