Details:
Imagine my surprise when I was processing my images and came across this image. Taken the morning of August 05, 2019 it is the aurora known as SAR, that night it was mistaken for STEVE but the image clearly shows that this is a SAR aurora. Scientists have only known that SAR arcs existed for last 50 years. So, there are still debates as to exactly what produces SAR arcs. It is likely that this faint red glow is caused by the release of energy by the Earth's ring current system.
