Details:
June 10 2019 was a hot day in San Francisco. I know that such hot days are good to hunt for mirages. I was filming miraged sea surface and noticed humpback whales that were launch feeding over that miraged sea surface. The whales were below my horizon. My horizon was at 10 miles. The whales were feeding at around 12 miles away from me. I was able to see them only due to an abnormal refraction. I filmed a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF_MBA5x-qQ You could spot whales launch feeding in three instances. The image is a screenshot from the video. A launch feeding whale is marked with a white arrow.
