I was flying for Pittsburgh to Iceland on my way home from visiting from mother in law who has not been well. I made sure to sit on the left hand side of the aircraft just in case of aurora. Before we took off I checked space weather and saw a coronal hole might give us some luck and sure enough the sky exploded with light. I and several other passengers were mesmerised by this stunning display. Note this is the second attempt to upload the upload, for some reason the first looks like it was corrupted or something

Wow, you were right about that previous upload- it is weird looking! Im not even sure how you could get that effect. One might almost think it was from the material of the planes window- you know how it sometimes gets that crazed look and you cant see clearly through it- but then how would the 2nd pic be clear? Excellent shot, anyway. lw
