Details:
his is by far the most challenging comet I imaged both because it is quite faint (the brightest stars in this image like HD25720 or HD25811 are mag. high 8ish low 9ish) and because of the incredible dynamic tail, which some in Yahoo's comet group suggest may indicate a rotation period of a bit more than 2 hours. Imaging this comet really makes one admire the incredible images by people like Gerald Rhemann, Michael Jäger, Norbert Mrozek, Damian Peach or Jose Chambo. Data for my image: 36x90 sec. light frames from 2018 01 19 23:35 EST to 2018 01 20 00:30 EST, Camera: ASI1600MC, Telescope: C5+ with 0.63 focal reducer, Mount AVX, Stacked with DSS and processed with PS
