Details:
Last night and this morning were good for viewing the annual Geminid Meteor Shower. Though the high winds at elevations of the High Country dropped the feel of the temperature a bit. The meteors in this shower appear to come from a radiant in the constellation Gemini. They are thought to originate from an astroid unlike most major meteor showers associated with debris from comets. Geminids Orion Evening was filmed during the evening of Wednesday, 12.13.17 looking east with skyglow after sunset toward the lights of Boone from Banner Elk, NC. A composite of a handful of keepers from sequences of 20 second exposures imaged through around an hour’s time.
