Details:
Last night and this morning were good for viewing the annual Geminid Meteor Shower.
Though the gusty high winds (note blurry trees) at elevations of the High Country dropped the feel of the temperature a bit.
The meteors in this shower appear to come from a radiant in the constellation Gemini.
They are thought to originate from an astroid unlike most major meteor showers associated with debris from comets.
Geminids Moon Morning was on Thursday, 12.14.17 with Moon and Jupiter rising in the lower right with a hint of pre-dawn glow from Banner Elk, NC.
from a sequence of 20 second exposures imaged through around an hour’s time.
