Details:
The X9.3 solar flare and CME that it produced continue to make headline news in solar circles. Yesterday at mid-day the second wave slammed into Earth's magnetosphere at >700 km/s causing a significant G4 solar storm. This followed hot on the heels of the initial pulse which occurred 12 hrs beforehand. Both were highly geoeffective, leaving the planet ringing like a bell after the impacts.
