Details:
Auroras are very rare on Long Island, NY so when I hear there will be a KP index of 7 or above I go to Long Islands north shore and take a series of 20 second exposures to see if I can catch a photographic Aurora. Sometimes they are not obviously visible. Camera: Digital Canon Rebel XT EOS. Tripod.
