Details:
The Mons Rumker at terminator. Image made on April 8 2017 with a Mak Cassegrain 18 cm from Rome. Despite the seeing a mosaic was done including the Rumker formation, Louville and part of Rima Sharp. Note the shadow in the central plateau due to the flat summit of the structure at the first solar illumination. Rumker appears as a volcanic complex with a variety of smaller volcanic features on its summit, described as "hilly plateau material". This volcanic complex is situated in the north-western part of Oceanus Procellarum. With a diameter of about 65 km, it is the largest contiguous volcanic edifice on the Moon. The central region of the complex is lower than the surroundings. This gives Rumker a ring-like appearance when very close to the terminator, as it is the case here.
