Details:
There where two on each end of the sun. It wasn't a sun dog because they didn't have a rainbow connecting them.

Nevertheless: this is a sundog. The real sundogs (i.e. 22degrees parhelia) can appear without the connected ring too. Iridescence manifests itself in interference oil patch or mother of pearl colours, and is mostly seen in altocumulus clouds and cumulus/stratocumulus edges.
