Still guiding an aurora chase tour in Iceland since Sept 24, seen them almost every night... This time was interesting, did some daytime sightseeing around Myvatn and Godafoss Iceland, then drove to Akureyri for dinner... cloud forecast said it would be cloudy but it also said it would clear later after midnight AND that activity would increase in 2nd half of night... so I target north of Akureyri at Olafsfjördur, we saw nice aurora already in evening , then go sleep early, wake up 2 AM still overcast, go back sleep, wake up 4 AM - KAWABONGA !!! HUGE aurora.
The experience is best described by the word Auroragasm. ;-)
