Saved by the blue hole of Abisko! I took a group out for Lights over Lapland in Abisko tonight. It's unseasonably warm for the Arctic at the moment. This time last year it was -20C now it's +1C and 100% cloud cover was forecast. With the high Kp I had my fingers crossed for my guests. Twenty minutes into the tour the blue hole of Abisko opened up and we had the most incredible aurora display. Started off in the south and then we had an hour and half of repeated coronas above. The auroras were that bright that the shot with the trees is 0.6 seconds and the green hole in the blue hole is 0.25 of a second! Hope the rest of the world had some great displays :)
