Details:
Jupiter and Mars are rising higher and higher in the eastern sky each day now. Venus is receding, but still offers a lot both visually and in images. The composition above shows the three planets at the same apparent size as imaged with an 14 inch F/5 homemade Newtonian and ASI120MMS camera under decent seeing conditions. Jupiter is still small, at 34 arcseconds, Venus is 20 arcseconds, and Mars is only 4.4 arcseconds but showing a lot of details like the polar cap, some clouds and Syrtis Major blue region. The great red spot can be observed on Jupiter, with a lot of activity in the near by cloud bands.
