My family and I were on our first trip to do astronomy from Spruce Knob, WV. Viewing was excellent, and my brother and I photographed the Milky Way while others used the telescope. Suddenly, we became aware of an aurora in the north. Some of the best view is etched in the brain, because we missed getting our camera on it. But, here is a photo that shows what we were able to capture.

Wow! Were you at The Mountain Institute? Im with NOVAC (Northern Virginia Astronomy Club) and as many times as Ive been there, never had an aurora shot. Awesome capture!
