Details:
Experimenting with old Pentax-K 50mm f1.7 lens on Canon EOS-M camera body. Milky Way in region of Cygnus, overhead from suburban moderately light-polluted sky.
Lens showed distorted stars wide open, but pin-sharp to edge of field when stopped down to f2.8. No vignetting!
Details - stack of 30 8s exposures at f2.8, 20 darks, stacked in Deep Sky Stacker. Stretched in Photoshop. Lens seemed to give a green tinge to the image, so green channel saturation reduced. If you have any old fast lenses, buy a cheap adaptor and have an experiment!!
