A major value of this Website is viewing and comparing images of others with one's own images. Methinks that I've been over-processing mine with too much contrast and not enough detail within the granulations. Today's images were slightly underexposed for more detail in the granule centres and, less aggressive use of Registax 6 Wavelets. I do hope that they will be seen as more pleasing. TS 115 mm APO triplet; Baader wedge; DMK41; 3X Barlow; SharpCap 2.6; Registax 6; PSP7. East/West not reversed. As usual, best viewed in the enlarged window with the dark background.

You did it my friend. The second image looks awesome. What ever wavelengths you use on Registax, thats what you want to achieve for a more clear results. keep up the good work I think you have done it :)

Thanks Sergio - I do appreciate your support. Between following your earlier suggestions, monitoring the work of others and, just experimenting has been both fun and worthwhile.

Cheers,

Bill

WOW !! Bernard, those are fantastic. May even out do the Big Bear Solar Observatory and its lake. Love the w/l image - great granules - not only well defined but, they have that translucent quality Ive been trying for. A long focal length refractor is definitely an advantage and, of course, a lot of skill and talent

The Daystar H1a images are also superb - they have a quality very difficult to obtain with a Lunt or Coronado scope.

Cheers,

Bill
