¿Cinco de Mayo Auroras? Actually it was an hour into seis de mayo, May 6, 2015 from 1am-to-2am when the twilight sky dangled a big aurora piñata above my backyard of Anchorage, Alaska. I swung my camera & tripod at it until a crack formed and a big handful of eye candy came pouring out. Yummy! I was actually just stepping outside to take a deep breath of cool, Alaskan air before bedtime when I saw a spike of light coming up over the mountains. I threw a jacket over my pajamas and had the best, and perhaps the only, good May aurora viewing in my life. Heck, I thought aurora season was all but over up here due to summer brightness. I call that a bonus treat. ¡Salud, dinero y amor!
