Details:
Always ask for a window seat, always! Flying back to London from Los Angeles, I was conveniently woken by the lady next to me leaving her seat - which also gave me the opportunity to get my camera! What really impressed me was how quickly the aurora were changing shape - easy to see which is what prompted me to take a series of photos from the window. Now I know what aircraft blankets are for - wrapping around the camera to minimise reflections! Details: Canon 5D mk2, ISO 2000, 8 seconds, f2.8 on a 15mm lens
