Details:
This persistent train is from a sporadic fireball during the 2013 Geminids meteor shower. The fireball is now logged with the AMS as event 3317. My friend I was taking pictures with that night managed to get a part of the fireball in one frame. After seeing I missed the fireball I decided to photograph the persistent train. The train was visible to the naked eye for about 10 minutes when I got home I discovered that I had captured it for 1 hour even though I had moved my camera to capture Geminids several times. I have never heard of a persistent train lasting this long except for the Russian Chelyabinsk meteor. Here is a time lapse of the persistent train slowly fading away: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJcXze7vZV0
