Details:
While framing the stars in the "handle of the Plough" which directs one to the bright star Arcturus, a satellite moving north suddenly brightened with intense white light. My 13 second exposure ended at peak brightness! I'm assuming the metal plate on one side of this satellite was a highly polished mirror catching direct rays of the sun and pointing them in our direction. "Arc to Arcturus" was the saying I learned as a child to navigate among the stars.
