Details:
I was delighted this evening to spot from central London the very bright Supernova (exploding star) in Galaxy NGC 4205 in the constellation of Draco the Dragon. Just recently discovered, the Supernova (bluish coloured lower star) is brighter than its galaxy. The galaxy is that misty lenticular streak of magnitude 12. NGC4205 is about 50 million light years away and is a spiral galaxy about a quarter the size of the Milky Way, our own galactic home. This is a nine minute exposure with my Unistellar Equinox telescope. the picture is cropped.
