Details:
I've heard about "dark auroras," and on the night of September 1, 2024, on a clear, sunny night near Kiruna, I may have photographed them. In this full-sky image, part of a sequence taken with a Canon 6D and a Samyang 8 mm. lens, a large dark area can be seen near the zenith, which I don't think is due to the background sky. At that time, the Kp index was 4-, which is quite low.
