Details:
Captured Comet C/2024 E1 Wierzchos for just 12 minutes on 2/18/2026 from Tarpon Springs, after it dropped out of the cloud deck in the SW just before setting. This is one of the first images of this comet from the USA due to the southerly latitude on the Florida Peninsula. It has been visible from the Southern Hemisphere for weeks and has just started to become visible in Northern Hemisphere skies. Image made by 'stacking' 88 separate images of 10 second exposures in software, tracking the comet and allowing the stars to trail.
