Details:
Accidental sighting with the moon at 80% sunlit directly in the north opposite the lunar disc. Fog built up over mountains to the north of our location at Guesthouse Lysuholl. The window was blowing at nearly 50mph from the north making it tough to do a time exposure. Maximum brightness with visual color occurred around 2115UT but persisted at a fainter level a number of minutes later. The Big Dipper stars show with a time exposure but due to the mist/fog shorter exposures were not as good. Visually the moonbow was very impressive standing out in an almost completely cloudy sky. This is the first time I have ever seen such an apparition.
