Details:
A new comet with a bright green coma has brightened to join Comet's Lemmon and SWAN in our evening skies. Comet C/2025 T1 (ATLAS) has brightened rapidly and in these images taken on the evening of October 28 CDT was magnitude 11.5 with a 2.4' wide coma. The comet will be at its brightest around November 14 when it will pass 95 million miles from Earth when it is expected to be around magnitude 10, although the comet is already near magnitude 10 according to some reports at the end of October. The comet is expected to maintain its peak brightness as it moves away from Earth toward perihelion with the Sun on December 2.
