Details:
Captured a satellite re-entering Earth’s atmosphere while shooting a star trail image of the Southern Alberta Star Party (SASP) at Elkwater, Alberta, Canada. At 12:03 a.m. Mountain time, September 23, 2025 a disintegrating satellite traveling west to east through the Big Dipper broke up into dozens (hundreds) of particles like ember’s across the sky. Seen in this star trail image as a single horizontal line of light.
