Details:
Flying British Airways from London to Chicago on 20 October 2023, there was a "Sundog of Concentric Circles" on the clouds far below us. The first time I noticed it was over the North Atlantic Ocean on the clouds below and in front of the airplane. The second time it appeared over the Canadian Shield on the clouds below and behind the airplane. The third time it was in the clouds over Lake Michigan as we were coming down to land in Chicago O'Hare Airport. Mystery solved: The sunlight bends around the airplane which acts like a prism to bend light into colours. John H. Menz in response to Carl: Sun dogs but not 100% sure what it is
