the slim crescent is seen in 10x50 with some difficulty due to the hazy midday air and about 63% decrease in brightness since maximum twenty two days ago. Present size of Venus is 57 "arc, it is orientating gradually towards convexity up as seen from southern hemisphere skies. Newt 8", S up W left
