And wanted to send you an image I take in Fairbanks, Alaska in the late 1990’s: Circa 1999. This unusual aurora appeared suddenly and I was forced to take this shot behind an out building. I remember the red as being quite deep in saturation and this photo captured it well. The grainness is due to the high speed film that I was using at the time. I only wish digital cameras were the norm in those prehistoric days. It is the best example of “White” aurora I’ve ever seen. Reminds me of the Italy National Flag!
