In a remarkable capture, solar flares are seen soaring to incredible heights above the Sun's surface. This image was taken from the Sharjah Optical Observatory on November 19, showing a solar flare reaching an altitude exceeding 160,000 km above the Sun's surface This is approximately half the distance from Earth to the Moon.
