Details:
On November 2 JF Soulier reported that Comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann had an eruption that increased its brightness several magnitudes. 29P on the morning of 2024 November 5 UT was magnitude G=11.6 as calculated from 48x10 second images in an aperture diameter of 0.4' The 2 stars directly below 29P in the image are magnitude 13.1 and 12.2 respectively, which agrees nicely with the magnitude calculation since 29P does appear starlike in the image.
